Max Verstappen has frequently shown an interest in competing in races outside than Formula One, particularly the world’s most famous sportscar race, the Le Mans 24 Hours.
“My desire is to do Le Mans one day,” he declared in 2019. “When it happens, I’m not sure. I’m also talking to my father, so he needs to get some training. Because if I want to do Le Mans, I’d prefer to do it with my father.”
However, his father, former F1 racer Jos Verstappen, has stated that his circuit racing days are behind him. “I enjoy rallying,” the 52-year-old stated on the family’s official website. “Let the young men race in Le Mans. I find rallying far more exciting.”
The Las Vegas Grand Prix promoter is hosting a special event for fans on Friday and Saturday of the race. The event will feature F1 and F1 Academy team appearances, live entertainment, local food trucks, and more. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be held on Las Vegas Boulevard near the Wynn hotel.
