National basketball analyst Travis Branham offers his latest intel on some of the top players in the 2025 class, including where Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina stand with these possibilities.
Dominoes are beginning to fall on the college basketball recruiting trail, and North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky are right in the mix. On Sunday, national basketball analyst Travis Branham met with director of scouting Adam Finkelstein to present the most recent information on a few great talents in the 2025 class, including top 20 prospects Cameron and Cayden Boozer.
“The Boozer twins are [Duke’s] top priority right now,” Branham stated on The College Basketball Show. “There is no guarantee they will get them. Miami has always been the frontrunner in this recruitment. This is a three-man contest between Miami, Florida, and Duke. I’m not ready to call Duke a leader. I still admire Miami, but it’s extremely close. “We should make a decision soon.”
Branham released further Duke recruiting information, including the two combo guards rival North Carolina is interested in. He also revealed which elite 2025 prospects Kansas is making a push for.
DUKE TRAILING MIAMI FOR BOOZER TWINS
Cameron Boozer is the number two overall talent in the 2025 class. Cayden Boozer is ranked number 19.
“The Boozer twins are our #1 priority right now. It is not a guarantee they will receive them. Miami has always been the frontrunner in this recruitment. Things have really tightened up. This is a three-man contest between Miami, Florida, and Duke. It’s become somewhat of a toss-up. I’m not ready to call Duke a leader. I still admire Miami, although it is extremely close. “We should make a decision soon.”
BLUE DEVILS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH TRIO OF ELITE BIG MEN
“Cameron and Cayden Boozer are top priorities. Then there are three other priorities surrounding them: Koa Peat (No. 5 overall), Nate Ament (No. 7), and Nikolas Khamenia (No. 27). They’re sneaking into the battle for Koa Peat, whether or not they get Cameron Boozer. I consider them to be in a war with all three of those. Duke is competing against UCLA, Arizona, and Gonzaga for Khamenia. Duke will be pleased if they can pair any of those three with the idea of acquiring the Boozer twins.”
DUKE IN ‘DRIVER’S SEAT’ WITH FOUR-STAR SF SHELTON HENDERSON
“Duke is prioritizing Dwayne Aristode (No. 29 overall) and Shelton Henderson (No. 18). They’re in terrific shape with Henderson, and they’re in control of that recruitment. Aristode is not the same type of player as Henderson. It may come down to how the rest of the class works out and whether Duke needs to strengthen its perimeter with shooting and go the Aristode route. With some of these individuals, it will be first come, first serve. Whoever makes the decision and wants to join your program, you accept them, and you will be delighted.”
