Following their preseason loss to Tennessee, the Seahawks signed two free agent tight ends, Michael Ezeike and Devon Garrison. The acquisitions add depth after tight ends Pharaoh Brown and Jack Westover exited last Thursday’s joint practice with the Titans due to foot and hamstring issues, according to head coach Mike Macdonald.

Linebacker Devin Richardson and cornerback Willie Roberts were released to make room on the roster for the two newcomers.

Ezeike, a wideout-turned-tight end from UCLA, has 407 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a Bruins. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound player went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. He played with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Memphis Showboats in the United Football League, but was waived before both of their seasons began. Ezeike caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Holton Ahlers, another 2023 undrafted free agent who previously played for the Seahawks, during the 2023 Hula Bowl.

Garrison is a two-time AP All-American from Pittsburg State, where he accumulated 1,581 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns during his season at the NCAA Division II school in Kansas. Despite speculation regarding his late-round potential in the 2024 NFL Draft, he went undrafted and attended rookie minicamps with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings this spring.
