It appears that the Chicago Bulls have made another move to shore up their roster this offseason. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Bulls have signed power forward Kenneth Lofton Jr. to a one-year contract. Lofton spent last season with the Memphis Grizzlies, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Utah Jazz. Across 21 NBA games, the 22-year-old averaged 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. Lofton was able to show off his skills in four games with the Jazz. Lofton’s averages with Utah were 13.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. In addition, he shot 60 percent from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc.

Chicago Bulls Are Reportedly Signing 2-Year Power Forward
Kenneth Lofton Jr. Impressed in the G League Last Season
Last season, Lofton spent the majority of his time in the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats and Salt Lake City Stars. And, while his NBA statistics were forgettable, the forward performed admirably in the G League. Lofton averaged 25.1 points on 56.4% shooting over 19 G League games last season. In addition, he averaged 9.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.3 blocked shots per game.
What Kenneth Lofton Jr. Will Bring to Chicago
Lofton is an extremely fascinating player with a distinct skill set. He is listed as 6’8, 275 pounds (but he has gained weight in the recent year). Lofton’s playstyle is slick, despite his bigger build. He is an effective scorer in both the paint and the post. Lofton is also a good rebounder and a high-energy player on the court. He is a very well-rounded player who demonstrated a lot of his abilities in the G League. Furthermore, he is growing as a perimeter shooter.
